A lot of different things really. I don't like discussing that kind of personal info (mainly because it's so long and boring) on public forums. Hopefully you understand. I am more than willing to sit down face to face and discuss it though should I be talking in person with someone.

I think you are right!

I cannot wait to get the truck back; hopefully this week. There have been more delays, problems with the wrong part being shipped, etc. etc. etc. I think that I have now passed the 5 week mark that it has been at the dealership!!!

I WANT MY TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see how you like the twins. I think I'm about ready to get a set myself.

Rjohnson loved his Lil' JR HX-55 14 CM.....got real close to 600 with it.....was very streetable.....BUT sence swapped to the BD twins....Night and Day.....hardly any EGT issues with 600+/1300+ (Just dynoed today) with water/meth......not too shabby......

ATS Twins

My observations on my twins are as follows:

The ordering and actually receiving these was outstanding. 2 days and they were at my installers. Can't beat that.

Fit was absolutely perfect. They are extremely well engineered. The internal wastegate elbow is by far,... as in lightyears ahead of anything I've seen on anyother set of twins.

Finish left something to be desired initially as the cold piping was rough. I pointed this out and they stepped up and now I have perfect,... beautiful powdercoated piping. It is my understanding they are all like that now when delivered. I got mine last Jan.

Spoolup. Spoolup is not great. In fact if you come out at 1/2 throttle then you actually take off much better. Just jumping on it will leave you with a frown from a dead stop. It is not like a stock turbo spoolup. Keep in mind I am powered up significantly nearing 600 hp.

I have had several conversations with ATS and they have what I understand to have at least a couple alternative sets of twins in development. On my set they are building a completely different version of the Aurora 2k. They tell me it will be two or three weeks and it will be ready. They build their own turbos in Salt Lake at their turbo division. Another set they will be offering is one utilizing your stock oem turbo and their big turbo which I think will still be the Aurora 5k which is a quality piece.

I am to get the new Aurora 2k very soon and will try it and report back so if you are looking at ATS for your twins I would wait until I get it and report on it. They have made significant claims of performance increase that will blow my set away so obviously I am anxious to try it out.

If you are just towing heavy and need the egt reduction then a set like mine will certainly do the trick. And as a matter of fact I have boost braked this setup and of course it launches like a rocket so don't think this set as is is a slug. It's just the street-like driving and performance from a dead stop that I have a comcern about. You can't boost brake at a stop light next to a Mustang in a built truck and fog out the 4-way and obviously that would bring you far toooooo much attention from the bubble heads that you wouldn't want.

Not to worry,..... I will be back on this once the new Aurora 2k is on my truck. I will say at least two other twins builders have told me that the ATS set is a real quality set and is just about bullet proof so I think it will all work out soon.

I’ve heard bad things about the ATS twins. I've heard they are inefficient and create allot of heat

I would say that wouldn't be true no matter who's twins we would be talking about. Or, the person saying that didn't do what they KNOW to be a requirement for the extra boost you would be getting,... like running a good quality intake and exhaust system and MOST importantly they need to have an upgraded Intercooler. The stock intercooler,.... metal caps or not will not cut it. When your talking minimum boost somewhere in the 50's and max probably somewhere in the 60's psi then your stock Intercooler will definitely be letting you down. Who ever told you that doesn't know squat.
