Ok, heres the first question, Has anyone tired to run a steel 16.5 wheel on a 3rd gen truck yet????

OK, now the real question, will 33X14.50 on a 16.5X12 inch rim fit (or 18X12 with 33X1.5.50s if the steel wheels don't fit) with just a 2 1/2 inch levelin it.

My buddy runs 16.5X12 inch wheels and 33X14.50 Swampers on his 99 with just a levelin kit and the same mod as showin but a little different.

We unscrewed the inner fender, and pulled it back. Then we took a big hammer and beat that little lip back and then reattached the inner fender. You can't tell we did anything unless you looked at another truck and saw the difference.

16.5s wone clear the brakes, as I understand. I know the 17s are very close to hitting them any way.

it is a easy unseen mod. the fender.

I know an alum. 16.5 won't clear the rim is to thick but I thought maybe a steel 16.5 may fit because it is thinner but I believe your right.

I know on 99 and up chevys you not supposed to run smaller than a 16 because of the rear brakes but a steel 15 inch rim will fit with a 1/8 inch spacer. It's close buts it's just enough to work, I hope it will work on the dodge.

There's no way a 16.5" rim will fit. The brake calipers sheared the balancing weights right off the inside of my 17" H2s!

Okay, so she got the lift on her truck today. 5.5" lift with 22" chrome wheels and 37" Toyo M/T...man does it look nice! I haven't seen her in about two years since we used to date...and she looks great, too! She's leaving in the morning to Lake Powell for a week, so I'll post a pic after that.

She's looking to sell her stock rims/tires. What would you guys say is a fair price for stock rims/tires with 9,000 miles on them? They are the steel, not the aluminum wheels, with the Michelin 265/70-17 tires.
