4" lift vs 6" lift

i have an 06 dually that the next thing im going to do is put a lift kit on it but i dont know how high i want to go. The 4" installed is 2200 and the 6" is 2500 so im leaning toward the 6" but do you guys have pics or stories of any reason not to go high with the 6"?

personally i would go with the 4 inch, anything over that just turns into just looks and a pita to get into. but thats my opinion. even for a trail truck i still would only go 4 inches, i like having an intact roof. now if ur looking for a mud truck go the 6inches

People actually use a dually as a trail or mud truck? If so...I would think you need a hell of a lot more than a lift. Thats a brick on wheels...just destined to sink lol

If you just stay on the street...go with a 6in. Looks nicer IMO. Also look into TC drop kits ( about 120.)...you wont get that vibration from the drive shaft.

I installed a 4.5 lift and 35's on my truck. I sometimes wish I went 6in and 37's but it still looks good. Take a look at my gallery for picts.

Any lift looks good...but a bigger one looks better lol

I had a 3in body and 35's on my 04 and it looked good. When I got my 2500 I loved the 6in and 37's even more.
But my truck is strictly for getting groceries no hauling ( its pulled a trailer twice in the 3 yrs I have had it )

I think it depends on what you use your truck for and then make a decision. Bigger tires is great but other things need to be upgraded if you plan on having it for a few years..just put a new tranny in my truck and the driveshaft has been replaced, powersteering pump as well and this is a street truck.

This spring Im going to change the and TC and VB to beef up the tranny and look into steering upgrades too. I was going to buy a new truck but decided to hold on to this one for a bit longer. Id have to dump another 10gs into a new one just to make it look like this one.
