2006 Truck and Mods

Well, I am finally a happy owner of a new Dodge.
2006 2500 Q/C SB 4x4 Cummins Auto 3.73?
Laramie, Bucket Seat, U-Connect, Navi, Tow Mirrors and Hooks, Clearance Lights, Off-Road Tires
Inferno Red, the fast color, Khaki Leather

I traded my 05 Hemi 1500 Q/C on Saturday. I have spent countless hours since then trying to decide on parts and I think this is where I'm at where I will be going. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Kore Chase Suspension and Steering Dampner
Juice with Attitude
MB 4" Exhaust with cat delete
AFE stage 2 intake

Will injectors help with this set-up?
If so do I need to up grade lift pump and CP3?
SP fuel module to help with the above items?
Will the Banks or ATS intake tube help over the stock one?

I heard that th 06's went to steel tanks on there intercoolers so no need to upgrade just yet. Later on I'm looking at better turbo and tranny upgrades.

I'm looking for a pimp daily driver and work truck, something to put the all the rice rockets to shame and a nice road trip machine. Please give me some input it would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

That's right - do yourself (& some of us ) a favor and assimilate whatever you can, then you can ask for specific help/advice.

You got that right. A little over a year ago my truck looked like this.

Then I changed directions........and started in this direction...... (now if I just had some money to BOMB it with)

Almost everything I have done was an idea I picked up while reading this board or looking at pics of other reader's trucks. FWIW.

I like the way your truck looks now!

Welcome to the website!

All of the members are giving you good advice. I would add that before you start using any aggressive fueling boxes that you upgrade your transmission as soon as possible! The stock torque converters in the 48RE transmission are the SAME TC's that have were in the early second gen trucks and they are very weak with anything above 60-80 H.P. Also, in stock form, the 48RE's have a tendency to wear out the thrust washers on the outside of the annulus gear. I am not trying to scare you or anything, just to help save you some time etc. I also just purchased a new 2006 Dodge CTD CR 4X4, Auto and am not planning on doing any modifications until I get my transmission done! This truck is my fourth Dodge CTD Pickup and I can tell you from experience that the stock transmissions are WEAK!

Take care and good luck.

Thanks Unruly and John P for the nice compliments. Ya'll both have very nice rigs too!

4pasnu, it will all come to you. I suggest a good set of gauges, air and exhaust mods, fuel pump upgrade, tranny upgrades.........then turbo, high performance boxes in that order. If money is tight and warranty is a concern, then work on other areas of the truck for a while and do the performance stuff when you feel confident the truck is fine and you have the money.

For me at least, the tranny upgrades are the hold up right now. Then it's bombs away!
