Pacific Performance Engineering?

Anybody know anything about these programmers. The diesel shop that I am thinking about buying one from trusts them and says they run just timing and duration. Not doubting them just want to know who is running them and what there experience has been with them. I want low to no pressure change power. Thanks in advance

I made 494.2 HP on the ATS Xcelerator (PPE) alone on my 04.5 .... not bad for a programmer ... stock turbo, lift pump ... fuel pressure was in a vacuum ...

PPE Excelerator

I just bought one of these today.

I went to a diesel shop that came recommended by a good friend of mine who has had a lot of work done to his Duramax.

When I got there I talked to the owner who also races modified Dodge/Cummins trucks. We talked about what are good/bad mods. He stated that the PPE Excelerator was, what he considered, the best way to increase performance in an 06 Dodge. He said he'd load the program and let me try it after which he would reload the stock software if I didn't like the system.

For background I also own a Cobra kit car that runs mid to high 10's in the 1/4 mile. So I have a reasonably good feel for hard acceleration.

I have to say that I was blown away by the change in the truck. It went from Lazy to excellent. It was like driving a completely different vehicle. The only down side was a very minor "puff" of smoke when the throttle was opened and it cleared almost immediately. We had set it at the MID level and in fourth gear (stick) it breaks the tires loose when the boost comes up.

By the way the three settings are (CRANKSHAFT HP) 85, 155, & 215. Now this is different from most company's who use rear wheel horsepower. In any case 155 at the crank should come out to around 125 HP at the rear wheels. It certainly feels like that is correct.

In closing I've driven the truck only about 40 miles with it and its completely normal in all respects EXCEPT when you stand on it. Then its a puff of smoke and a really strong pull.

FWIW...

I know a guy using Piers PPE and Piers TST and he is making a little better power than the older BDDL CL /TST combo did on his 05. There is not much else normal though. He broke his input shaft on a rolling pavement WOT launch....These rolling WOT launches are how you get big numbers dynoing and they are haaaarrrrdddd on the trannies.....from personal experience. I'm avoiding DL's until they get a little Smartyer. ks

Ppe

I have been running the PPE HOT for several weeks. I'm sure someone will disagree with me on this but my observation is that the ecm actually learns once you download this thing. Initially it was significant but after it's been on there for a week or so it just keeps running stronger and stronger so don't think what you initially will get is it,... there's more!! More is better when it comes to power. Also PPE is doing this torq eliminator thingy like the CLDL. It will probably be ready this next week if not right now. I've been talking to them (Danny @ PPE) and he seems to know the deal on this and is very pleased with the beta testing results so far. I have had the CLDL Power Pup and I'm sure the PPE is stronger. I don't know about this hp at the crank stuff for their hp claims. Wouldn't you have to have it on an engine stand dyno for that?? I think they just say it that way to understate the power similar to what TST does. They are both understated. I'm beta testing the TST and it will be on this next week. It has the cool down feature, ... the user adjusted timing feature in 3 degree increments, and it has three power programs which lets you go from the singles setup to the twins setup to the hot twins setup and then of course all your power levels from 0 to 9. That is practically infinite adjustability. I want to see how that stacks up with the PPE. Should be interesting. I am also getting a revisied Aurora 2k for my twins which should help also,.... that will be a couple weeks off though. I'd say within the next month there should be time to significantly test and review these products and report to the members.
