Just an update I now have almost 4000 hard miles on the one-piece driveshaft with no issues and its smooth as silk even compared to when the 2-piece was on the truck when it was new with no lift... definately worthwhile IMO especially if you need to replace U-joints anyway like I did.

is there any noticeable difference in the efficiency of the aluminum shaft IE fuel economy or acceleration over the old style?

Yes, I used to reset the overhead mpg and it would go to 22 mpg and work its way down to 19ish. The aluminum drive line starts out at 23mpg and settles in at 21.5. The three ujoints were a total of 2 deg off checking with shaft rotation. With rear ujoint at 0 deg, center was 1 deg and front ujoint was 2 deg. I imagine the torque of the cummins puts a set in the tubes. That situation has to eat some horse power.

I just got mine from Dodgeparts.com and it WAS cheaper than Doghouse. I think the shafts are the same for your truck and my QC/LB. My part number is 52123161AB.

I paid $468 shipped......

Maybe someone can help me out, in need of new driveshaft parts due to a bad vibration and dont want to rebuild the 2-piece. Tried the part # Dodgezilla posted above at dodgeparts.com for the 1-piece and there were no items matching that #. Any other reliable sources to try? thanks

Sorry Dude. Not sure what I was thinking when I posted that bogus info. THIS is actually where I got mine from. They still show a great price for it too.
