does the EPA really think we care about the 'advantages' of USLD? Seems to me the advantages are for them rather than us...

Plain and simple running lsd will shorten the useful life of your aftertreatment exhaust system. It is just simple chemistry. The same goes for not using low ash oil.Sure you can do it but in the end you WILL pay the price.

just kinda throwing this out there but to my understanding that the production of lsd was no more period and ulsd was to take place for lsd automotive diesel including off road starting back a couple years ago. Not 100% sure . Also i ran into a bp station about a year ago and it had the lsd sticker and i asked and it ended up be ulsd.

It is getting harder to find, but I just bought some LSD a couple of weeks ago on I-10 west of Phoenix. It is definitely still around. I am hoping someone comes up with an additive package to replace what the EPA gestapo makes them take out when I have to switch to ULSD permanently.

LSD is still being made... It's used in Locomotives and transport containter ships!

ULSD is only for those of us with trucks and light machinery!

Sad thing is the EPA and all the other hippy freaks out there think they are doing something good for the environment, but the truth is with all the trucks (including rigs), boats and light machinery (i.e. tractors, bobcats, etc... ) only account for around 10% of all Diesel consumption! 90% of all Diesel consumption are in locomotives and container ships (and other huge international shippers)...

so why ULSD? To make the hippies feel good, but not actually do anything!
