Will my truck be okay?

Gents,
I am currently at Navy OCS in Newport, RI. Obviously, I have no access to my vehicle and probably won't for a total of 8-10 weeks...what should I be worried about, if anything?

Everything should be ok. Maybe disconnect your batteries so the clock and computer don't pull them down too much. Make sure your fuel tank is full to keep condensation from forming.

Maybe just put a battery tender on the batteries keep them topped up and fill the fuel tank so no condensation, and I would think it will be just fine.

My truck sits for over a month sometimes. The only issue that I have had is when I left my Edge Insight plugged into the OBDII port, it totally drained both batteries deader than dead. I had to do some trickery to get my charger to see it was actually connected to something. Fine after that and learned my lesson.

Other than electrical/battery maybe, I don't think you'd have an issue, but not sure where you're located though as I am in So Cal paradise myself.

What's been said already, topping off fuel tank, unhooking batteries.

I would also jack the truck up and leave it on jack stands (flat spots on tires), clean the truck interior out really good (keeps from attracting critters), and leave some baking soda inside to keep moisture down.

Just remember to look the truck over really good before you start it or drive it, make sure nothing has made a home in the intake, ate the filter, chewed through hoses or lines.

Are you storing it inside or out?

try a small in the widow solar panel that plugs into the cigarette lighter. That keeps the batteries charged up good without any power necessary from electrical sources. Jack up and get the weight off the tires (absolutely), put a pkg of DECON under the hood and make sure you turn off all heater AC controls so the air doors are closed. Top off fuel and put some fuel stabilizer in there and drive it for 10miles or so to get it everywhere. Windows up tight, no issue with heat if you use reflectors in the window(s) [especially make sure the solar panel is next to the window and facing the south if possible and put reflector under it]. Shouyld be good when you come back. You can pull the shipping fuse from the fuse block if you're concerned about draining the batteries from hidden power grabbers.

Thanks for all the advice...the truck will be stored outside...and I have no way of getting it off the ground. I am most worried about the motor...I didn't put any fuel stabilizer in the tank and I don't want to run crappy fuel through my injection system...that is my main concern. Should I be worried?

Don't you have friends or family you can leave a set of keys with? If so, have them drive it around the block every couple weeks. 8-10 weeks is not that long of a time. I don't think you need to go over drastic on storage prep. Good luck in OCS. Your truck will be the least of your worries there. Better make sure you butter knife is in the right spot.
