What Year Truck To Buy?

I currently have an 01 that im thinking about trading in. Whats the best year to get? What are some of the common problems with the other years?

Which year would you pick and why?

Depends how much you want to spend. If you have no limit to spend i would get a 08. But if you do have a limit to how much you can spend i would personally get the truck I have 03 6speed HO. You can get them for a good price and they seem to get 2-3mpg better mileage then the 08's.

Except for there's about a 3.5 to 4.0 mpg difference.

How about you tell us what your going to do w/ the truck, that will make a diff. in many opinions.

ALSO, there needs to be (06 or early 07 5.9L) and an (07.5 6.7L) option, because I have a feeling there's a difference

If I was to look for a newer truck, it would be an 03. 3rd gens are nice, the common rail engine is quiet and easily upgradable, but I believe the 04.5 and newer trucks cause a lot more trouble than the early ones. They use more fuel, seem harder on injectors, and have a lot more engine failures.

Get a car and save on fuel, keep your truck.
