Recently noticed that the turbo whistle has gotten louder. I first noticed it on a trip to phoenix with the radio off. Sounded like the it was comming from behind the engine firewall/dashboard. When I opened up the window, i could definately hear the whistle coming from engine compartment. It sounds real nice, but ive never heard it that loud and from the engine. Any ideas?

Check the clamps at the turbo and downpipe/cat.

 

I doubt you have the same problem as I had on my 5.9 but mine did that and it was a tiny chip broken off the turbo wheel.

 

Mine busted the turbo hose that was clamped to the turbo on my 03 it made it louder and I lost some power and made my egts go up.
