SO I GUTTED MY INTAKE AND SOME HOW ENDED UP WITH MY SILENCER RING CHILLIN' IN MY GLOVE BOX...BUT I WANT MORE TURBO NOISE. I CAN BARLEY HEAR IT OVER MY MY 4" MBRP TURBO BACK STRAIGHT PIPED. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

 

Are you using a aftermarket air box or do you have the stock air box still?

Ball bearing turbo... famous for loud whistle. Also use a different intake like a "*****'s Whistler".

Not necessarily, but you do have to buy something. A turbo. The bigger the louder. My 62-71 13ss whistles way louder then the stocker!

****** whistler is a homemade intake created by member Mark (53willys), has a louder whistle like the AFE intakes, but at a cheaper price. Do some research on it, many ppl have it and enjoy it. It will definitly whistle louder than the stock airbox.

 

For the best whistle sound I think removing the intake tube and placing a insect screen over the turbo inlet would sound the best.

Get the aFe Stage 2 with a SRT-10 hood and you will have all the whistle you want.

 

Does the hood actually do anything for the whistle. That's a little far fetched for me

just put on a *****'s whistler and it definitely sounds like a 747 taking off every time I get into it. Also, my truck seems to warm up faster now for some reason. Changed the oil and put on the whistler at the same time so not sure which affected that more but it's a good cheap filter that works well. JMO.

 

I just got an SRT10 hood made my whistle quieter.....
