Well Matt, an open element air intake would certainly make the turbo louder. You can really hear that baby spin. In fact I'm a little concerned that the high pitched sound might hurt my dogs ears.... haven't taken them for a ride since I installed mine .

In stall a Piers HX40 and talk about turbo noise at 10 pound of boost going up a hill gets almost annoying. I did say almost right. I also have an open element. Oh yeah and at 40-45psi ?????????????????????? What did you ask again?

This is so vain .... worried about how to make a turbo louder. Why would you waste your time with such a silly pursuit???? ------- (Ok, Mrs Cethane has gone in the other room now Here's what I has made my turbo scream - Straight Pipe, BHAF, smaller turbine housing. The 16cm made it slightly louder than the 18cm, but the 12cm makes it scream - even at idle. I'm planning on getting a PDR hx-35 in the near future - I can only imagine how that will scream without the silencer ring. ------- (Oh, Mrs Cethane's coming back). Again, I can't understand why someone would spend time trying to make there truck sound a certain way when there are so many other things you could be doing.

Installing a used HX-35 or WH1C (after pulling the silencer ring) will make the biggest difference in noise. The quick spool-up is nice too.
