OK. today I tore the speedo gear housing out of the truck, and took it to a local big rig shop where they rebuild them. Of course, they'd never seen on like mine, so we tore it down and replaced the little keyway that was broken. I went back home, installed it, and went for a test drive..NOTHING. I went straight to the dealership before they closed to see if they had any in stock, and they guy said he needs to know how many teeth are on the gear on the little shaft that goes inside the trans. Well, I said whatever.. I didn't want to pay that kind of money anyway. I don't care if my speedo is off, I just want cruise control. On my way back home the speedo started bouncing all over the place (even when stopped at a light) and racked up 114 miles on a trip that took 10 minutes...

Does anyone have the L-shaped gear housing off a parts truck or old Getrag trans?

Or maybe a better/cheaper source to get them than the dealer?

oh, BTW, I've replaced the VSS...speedo has been checked, wiring has been checked, yoke nut torqued...the problem lies in this housing...and it's getting to be annoying.
