Did you trade the 06 in or sell it outright ? Am contemplating getting an 08 but can't trade it in and make the numbers right.

traded it but should of just sold it outright since dealers just screw you on numbers any how.

Maybe I missed it, but did you get the 5.9 or 6.7? And BTW, what's that white stuff? I've read about it and seen pictures of it. Even though it's 60 degrees outside today at least it's cloudy and supposed to rain here in Phoenix.

Oh yeah, very nice truck. Congrats!!

its a 6.7 so far i am happy with it and like the jb feature for towing will get to try it this week since i am headed out to PA to pickup another jetta tdi.

that white stuff was the ice/freezing rain we have been getting for the last 12hrs went through a whole washer tank in about 200 miles since the defrost could not keep the top 1/2 of the window warm enough.

Wow, I can't imagine trying to hold any traction with my 6.7 in those icy conditions. You must really have to feather-foot it to get going. Plus, I thought I read on one of the forums that in the defrost mode on the 6.7 your truck is actually using the a/c compressor which has been linked to worse than normal mileage. But in those conditions MPG is a mute point.

Welcome to the 6.7

Yes that is true on almost any automobile/truck if you have defrost on it cycles the ac compressor so the clutch still gets used during the winter otherwise the compressor could lock up. i never even put it in 4x4 the whole way home just did about 50-60 mph for what seemed like all day. 350 miles took from 2pm till 9pm--wow hopefully the weather going out to PA this week is better then that

Virtually every vehicle on the road today runs the AC compressor in the defrost mode. It dehumidifies the air so your windshield doesn't fog as easy.

Some cars have an "economy" button so you can turn this off. It works OK in Colorado in the winter because it's so dry here.
