My new 08 2500 will do 104 (not on public road) but it has 3.75 gears The 4500 and 5500 get 4.66-4.88 or so I cant remember for sure. But if you realy need a 4500 you dont need to run a lot faster than that. But I am like you I would not want it to limit at that.

I dont need a 4500 but the price is the same as a 3500 so why not. i run a lot of hwy and the speed limet is 75 mph. would be nice to be able to go a little faster. and when i'm unloaded and so on. but the dealer said it's all cc that are guv at 76.

How many RPM is it running at 70? Mine is 1800prm at 70mph with the 6spd auto. I wold think that the MPG would be hard to swallow if it will only go that fast because of gearing, but it should be able to pull anything.

not sure about 70 but at 76 it was at 2300 to 2400. i did not get to keep up to speed to long rush hour and all. I would think it should be able to go at least to red line in top gear. not that i want to keep it there. but passing and other times. i would think they could change the top speed like they do on the big rigs. they up'ed my speed in my dump truck from 65 to 80. and it only tuck a few mins.

When you say CC, I'm assuming you must be talking about 4500's and 5500's. I don't know what the top speed on my 3500 cab and chassis is, but I have been up to nearly 90 passing sometimes, and it was still climbing.

The Smarty probably will probably alter it like on the 5.9L CR trucks, also will might get possibly 45 more HP than the smarty will advertise because we will get the modifyed pickup tune not a modifyed C&C tune. You don't know for sure until the Smarty is released

mine was only at about 2400 (maybe less I was watching the road not the tack) at 104 so they may be limiting the rpm in top gear. I can say it don't take long to get there.
