Replacing the Turbo on Monday....
The dealer will be replacing the Turbo on monday. I asked the Service writer if they will be changing the oil since they are replacing the turbo. He said he is not sure if its part of the replacement process. I dont want old oil going through a new turbo. IMO it should be part of the warranty process. So I guess my question is for those who have had the turbo replace is do they change the oil and does it fix the 2262 code? They tried the cleaning and it didnt fix it and said I got a bad turbo.
Thanks

You want the oil changed, you will have to pay for it. Sorry, no free lunch there.
I am not looking for a free lunch but who puts a new turbo on a motor and doesnt change the oil. I believe it should be part of the process since you shouldnt want old oil going through a new turbo.

Thanks, for piece of mind and its at 3500miles I will have it done anyway. I know people do turbo's at home and dont change the oil, but being its a brand new truck and I plan on keeping it for a long time and so dont want the possibility of shortening the life of anything. The service writer said he will try and get them to toss the oil in, so I guess I will have have to pay for labor and filter no big deal, just trying to see if the Service writer was trying to BS me.

I'd change the oil for peace of mind if it's due anyways. You never know. Some dealers' service departments will see it that way, while others will not.
Best of luck.
Some WARRANTY OPS allow oil and filter for things like head gasket etc. Can't see it on a turbo replacement. If warranty doesn't pay for it the dealer has to ABSORB it. If anything ask to see if they have a oil and filter coupon you can use.Engine/turbo etc has a 100k warranty.

Thanks will do. I think he will try and atleast get the oil covered, but we will have too see. If I gotta come out of pocket $65 for the oil change I will no big deal it was coming close to time for it to be changed anyway.

I'd have the oil/filter changed, if it was me, the good part, 39.95 + tax at my dealer.
