rear bumper

rear bumper

well its hear again winter in steamboat, everyone forgets how to drive.i need sime advice, the othe day my wife got rearended in our megacab,the question is the rear bumper needs replaced it has the hitch assembly in it and looks like its bent but it looks like its welded to the frame does that need replaced as well ,or is ot all one piece any help would be appreciated. thanks

the bumper and the hitch are separate.

just crawl up under, and take a good look,
put a hitch in and the reciever, see if it's level with the top of the bed, or drooping.

unless the bumper is totally destroyed, most folks leave them alone,
you usually re-bend them on something real soon.

Bolt on a Bodyguard rear replacement bumper and forget about the stock bumper, hitch is separate as previously mentioned.

Or you can put a huge pintle hitch on the back. My wife got rarend in Austin traffic. The ricer cars hood opened up like a tune can. She took out the rad. and many other parts. Only took a little paint off the hitch.
