Question about Navigation unit in a 2008

I am new to this forum so I hope this is the right place to ask this. I just bought an 08 Mega with the navigation stereo and I want to know if you can hook up an Ipod to this radio.

If so what do I need and will I be able to control the ipod through the radio?

thanks for the input

don't think so. would be some 3rd party deal. They don't even have the Aux plug in. Pretty disappointing considering the upgrade. Not to mention the lesser headunit (non-nav) has the Aux input. There are lots of FM modulators out there but that's the only way I am familiar with getting an IPOD to work with it.

Dodge has an interface kit #82209617 AB. It will allow the radio to control the iPod. Pricey though. Docks in the glove box and plugs in directly, with no splicing.

I am iPod iliterate but buy looking at the useless instructions in the kit, there is a module that gets added to interface between the iPod and the radio. The Nav REC radio should have the most features available. It has the largest screen, and its LCD. So depending on the iPod and it's features it should be all you need. The iPod will be out of sight and out of mind. The aux function of the radio will control it and the system will keep it charged. Looks pretty neat.

The Mopar unit actually works great. The only problem is it will not work with the new Ipod Nano's.

thanks guy's for that insight. I'll be checking it out. I really like the steering wheel controls so I didn't want to swap the Nav unit out and have to deal with some aftermarket deal that allows those steering wheel controls to work.
