Question on the 6.7

Well I just bought one and I was just wondering on the fuel. Does all places carry the ultra low diesel for the new truck? And I was wondering on the new sensors and filter is easy for them to get plug up and have problems

Pretty much all pumps in the US are now ULSD with very few exceptions. I was told by a distributor in my area that ULSD was supposed to be in all pumps by sometime last October. The tanks are tested so if the fuel doesn't meet spec' then their there is pretty hefty fine. Although I see some pumps that still say "LSD", the fuel smells different (kinda like paint thinner but not as strong) and is pretty much ULSD. The flamin' sticker just hasn't been changed yet. I wouldn't sweat it. Just buy at a station you trust.

FYI, Not all stations are required sell ULSD. In fact LSD can be sold for on road use until 12/2010 so long as 80% of all fuel sold is ULSD. Anyway do not use LSD in a 6.7L engine as if you do the problems you will have with the DPF or any thing else are not covered under warranty!

Ryan, I have yet to see a station around here that doesn't sell ULSD. Just check the pump. They should have a sticker on them saying what it is.

There are several stations here in Utah that sell both LSD and ULSD. Just have to pick the right pump island.

Flying J is the big one around here that has the split pumps, LSD/ULSD.

Aprox 20% of the stations will not has ULSD because of the 80/20 rule. The rule is that 80% had to be ULSD by last fall the other 20% got an exemption till 2010.

Depending on where one lives, it might mean NO USLD availability. On the Eastern Shore of VA, you can't find any ULSD because the refinery that supplies the area got the exemption. This is a manger hangup for me when it comes to getting a new truck.

For those that don't check their local stations before purchasing one of these DPF equipped diesels, I feel sorry for them when they find out only LSD is available.

Just make sure you keep all of your fuel receipts. Just in case something happens you have traceability.

In the college station/bryan area, all pumps are ULSD. I believe in Houston they are all ULSD and every one I've seen going up to dallas is ULSD.

In Cedar Park Texas There are two station that I know of that sell only LSD. I still have the diesel perfume exhaust smell we love so well. There is also B20 at a Shell station.
