Thinking of updating my 92 Diesel. NOted today that the Dodge Diesels here in Alberta are made in Mexico. No thanks. Does the same apply to trucks available in the US?

 

If the VIN starts with a 3=Mexico and 1=St.Louis. I think nearly all dodge CTD are made in Mexico since 1994

I stand corrected - what is the first letter of your VIN?

 

From everything I hear and read you hope your truck is made in Mexico. Supposedly better paint and less warranty claims on everything else. My truck was built in Mexico in March and its been a good truck.

 

My '07 was made in St. Louis as well with a May 07 build date! The first number in my VIN is 1.

 

1D7KS is the first five of the vin

 

Also when I bought mine I had narrowed down what I wanted to 5 trucks. 3 were 8' beds & 2 were 6.5', all were quad cabs. The long beds were all made in Mexico and the short beds were made in St. Louis. I don't know if was just coincidence or thats the way it is. On a side note the truck plant in Warren ,Michigan only makes 1500's & no mega-cabs.

 

I just checked with the dealer today - my new megacab is being made n Mexico - should be finished the 14th and then shipped. He doesn't have a delivery date yet.

 

they are not necessarily made in mexico...they are just assembled in mexico....... just my .02
