Oil change question

Only 2200 miles on my 6.7 and overhead computer saying oil change required.. Seems a little too soon to me.

If it were me I would Change the oil/filter and reset your oil change light. Just to be on the safe side IMO. You could also take it to the dealer and see what they say

keep in mind it's a new engine and still in the break in. I've got 2500 on mine and will probably change it shortly.

I changed mine after 3000 for the first time. Now I go 20K between changes with oil analysis.

Mind did the same thing at 2200 and I wasn't going to change until 5000 but the advice was to change it. Now have 2400 on the new oil and haven't seen the light yet , I sure hope I can get 5000 before needing the next change.

you can reset that oil change light by just turning on the key and hitting the gas pedal three times.

Have any of you have thought to look and see how many months are on the factory oil along with how many miles it has on it? 3 weeks after I bought my 2006 I found out that the oil was 9 months old and yet the truck only had 50 miles on it after I did a test drive. I changed my oil at 1,050 miles once I found out how old it was and would of changed it sooner if I had known it was 8 month old and that it had sat in the engine from early August 2005 until mid April of 2006 when I bought it. I don’t think anyone should trust the factory oil with out first checking to see how old and how many miles are on it.

My truck was built about 1 month before I got it and had to change oil about 1 month after running it.
