Took the truck out for a run to the hardware gettin' place this morning, in T/H and ebrake. Truck behaved flawlessly so far, both cold and hot. Kept the rpms up and let the brake slow me down several times on the way there and back. The road into the hardware store is about a quarter mile down a decent hill, so it stayed engaged most of the way down. It engaged/disengaged consistently and no "turbo barf". I'll know more next week after I put another three hundred more miles on. So far I am encouraged. Would be nice if the fix was that simple!!

I'm heading to the dealer in the morning to speak with the service manager. Since my truck wouldn't restart after it died, I'm hoping whatever was causing the issue is dead as well and easy to find. I'll let you guys know what happens.

Talked to the dealer today and it looks like they found an EGR problem and replaced the DPF again. My truck always ran well around town, but it was on the highway or under a light load when the no power issue came up. Is it possible that the EGR was sticking and not allowing fresh air in the engine? Would this cause excessive sooting of the DPF and put the truck into limp mode? I thought there were sensors to detect that and they would throw a CEL? None the less, If this fixes the truck, I'm pulling ALL the emisions crap off and putting in a tuner.....

The EGR is the root of all evil. All that soot in the engine is just bad news and it seems causes more problems than its worth with clogging sensors, valves and excessive soot downstream of the engine. If anything I would pull the plug on that sucker and leave it disabled.

I really hope that fixes it for now and then you can join team BLACKTec.

Picked up the truck today and the dealer replaced the eve away and put another dpf. If the truck runs good this week I'm ordering a egr/dpr delete and storing the old parts in case I sell the truck. I know a of folks here like the smarty, but what are your thoughts on the H&S tuners?

The truck has been running good, haven't had any power loss. Tomorrow is the big test, I'm taking a road trip from Abq to Las Cruces then up to Scottsdale AZ. Any DTR Members on that route in case the truck dies??? Just might need a tow...

looks like the new EGR fixed the problem. I guess it was stuck in recirc mode and loaded the dpf causing the engine to derate.

Thanks cnp! I'm gonna pull everything off the truck in the next week or so and save all the NEW oem parts for the future owner!! I think I'm going to go with the H&S tuner and a turbo back exhaust, can't wait!!!!!
