Injectors life on a 3rd

I have a Bullydog triple on my 07. Honestly I don't think any of the tunes do much for the mileage. Certainly don't make it worse, but I seem to get about the same regardless of power level.
A different tuner may help with mileage thou.

I will agree with your friend that the 5.9 CR Injectors are troublesome. On my now sold 2006 Dodge CTD CR, I had to replace the first set at about 94,000 miles. I replaced them with brand new Bosch Injectors and those were starting to give me trouble at about 198,000 miles!
I don't really undertsand why the 6.7 injectors seem to last longer. If you tear down a 5.9 CR Injector and a 6.7 CR Injector "side-by-side" they are very similar.
As Dr. Dizzle pointed out they are ALL EXPENSIVE! But as he said, which I agree with, if you go to buy any of them BUY NEW ONES!
IMHO,....the 5.9 Cummins (Bosch) CR Injectors are JUNK! I think they should last much longer than 95,000-100,000 miles and while some sets may, many DO NOT!

Diesel Yukon:
On my 2006, it kept getting harder to start. By that, I mean the crank time got longer and longer. Also, I was getting some blue smoke on start-up which had never happened before and my mileage was way down from what it normally was.
As soon as the new injectors went in, all those symptoms went away and
the truck ran great again. BTW,....all of my injectors had low pressures and two had very worn nozzles.

After losing a set of injectors in Yellowstone Park towing the fiver I left three large at Wyoming Diesel in Cody, WY in exchange for a new set of injectors. I'd been inconsistent about fuel conditioner, especially on that 3K mile trip loaded in the mountains. They said always to run a fuel conditioner to replace the sulfur that used to lubricate injectors. I won't fill up without it now and with about 100K on the new ones, so far, so good. I also run the Baldwin filter in the stock can.
The truck smoked a lot and his STAR tool confirmed most of the injectors were bad. I highly recommend those guys. They worked me in at lunchtime and had me out that afternoon.

I did not use an additive but replace the filter between 10-15K. Several other transporters claim they added a quart of transmission fluid to 35 gal tank of fuel to lubricate the injectors.
