Just curious if i could get some of you guys that have EGT gauges to do some research for me... Would you let the truck idle for a few minutes (if you dare) at just the normal idle speed and take a not of the EGT and then turn on the high-idle, crank that up and then take a reading after a few more minutes.

Im just curious to see what kind of EGTs this thing is pushing at idle, and what difference the High idle makes...

 

On my 5.9, High Idle makes it cool faster and when cold it runs about 380 with High Idle and 400 without.

 

Mine is 300-350 normal and high idle, without AC on. With AC on it is closer to 400* again normal and high idle.

 

Sorry didn't see you had the 6.7...Guess my numbers dont mean anything now.
