high idle

Smile high idle

hi all new here and was wondering if i could get some help my 2010 ram 3500 dually keeps giveing a code of p2609 when i use the remote start then shuts done but always starts with no problem with the key and also on cold starts she jumps to high idle untill i run her down the road. she does this even when warmed up jumps to 1000 rpms (only untill i take her down the road then she idles fine any thoughts on this thanks for any and all help

Welcome to the forum. I've not experienced this particular code, but there are numerous previous postings on this issue. A search of the forum finds this one:

Seach is your friend.

Doesn't look to serious, it may just be the first time the grid heaters have cycled this year or you may have a battery issue.

Couple of notes of better assistance on the forum.

1) You have a 4th generation truck, so you may get better responses in there (although this issue does seem common across years).

2) Punctuation and capitalization will make your post easier to read.

A loose or poor Battery Ground Cable connection may cause this code to set. Clean and tighten battery connections first. Check the air heater circuit for loose connections also, connections at battery and relay are clean and tight.
