Front drive shaft issues after 4" lift

I had a 4" lift installed a couple weeks ago and the dealer installed front springs for a Gas engine instead of a Diesel. The front end was a little lower than the back but no issues otherwise. The new Diesel Springs arrived and were installed last week. Now the truck sits a little higher in the front, but since installation, I've had a "grinding" sound comming from the front end at about 40mph and up. We took off the front drive shaft and the sound went away. Rancho suggested leaving the drive shaft off for ~500 miles to see if the springs would settle and reduce the angle of the drive shaft. Has anyone else had issues like this with a 4" lift? The 500 miles is almost up so I'll have the drive shaft reinstalled shortly to see if the angle is better. If I still have the "grinding" sound, is there anything else that can be done??

By the way, the truck looks great with 4" and 35's, it makes the Megacab look well proportioned. I put 20" Chrome Rockstars with Nitto 35's, no rubbing issues.

Thanks,

Dan

I just went through this same isue (super lift though) they installed a transmision joint of of the out put shaft and it is gone know. This item should come with the kit suoerlift sent one and the shop installed at no charge to me. Also ther is a Clock somthing that they can install that clocks the front axle to a better angle to the driveline.

the "clock" as you call it, will most likely rotate the transfer case to where the output shaft is lower.

I have a superlift 4 inch kit and have had no noises in the front end.. My truck rides pretty rough tho.. .Could be because i opted for the Resevoir Bilstiens and they might just be adjusted to stiff for my liking.. It kept a stock rake tho.. So my front end isnt sky high when i hook up to my 31 foot enclosed snowmobile trailer..

The dealer was suprised that the 4" lift would cause the noise too. Maybe the drivetrain angles on all our trucks are different, within DC specs, but still different. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping that the springs will settle a little and the noise will go away.

My 6" Superlift kit put the front shaft in a bind. Indexing the t-case or a high dollar custom driveshaft are about the only 2 choices you have.
