I put my 4" in x 6" out tip that I bought from DPPI on my truck and it is holding up perfectly fine even though this is the third truck I have had it on. I have over 4000 miles on the truck now and there is no discoloration at all. I think it is because there is a 1" gap around the whole end of the tailpipe and the wall of the tip. It cost me around $85.00 2.5 years ago...

3RD from last. Price look to still be the same as when I got mine. It's a very nice durable tip and it is huge!!

I like that tip! Did you have to cut some of the stock muffler off to get it to go on? if so how much? Im trying to get ride of the black soot all over my bumper.

Well, My truck doesn't make any soot since it's a 6.7 BUT you just slide it out as far as you want to. Eventually it will stick out enough where you won't get any soot.
A nice turndown will work great for your problem too but I have not seen any that look good on SRW trucks yet other than guys taking a stack and cutting it down to fit on a modified tailpipe. (Modified as in cutting a bunch of it off and then welding the stack onto it.)
And in case I didn't mention it, The tip I run will give your truck a bit throatier sound. It truly acts as a Megaphone.
