I never shut the exhaust brake off except on a slick road, the three off and on trick on my truck works fine. Shows done. No codes. After 98,562 miles, it must be the thing to do. Might make 100k by the end of the year.

 

If you can't get the code, like this AM, take it to Auto Zone. I just did and they can read the code, clear it and give you a print out of the problem. Of course it's the EGR valve stuck open again!
