My ETC light came on today. What the heck is that for? It still seems to drive OK. I hate the thought of going back to the dealer again.

 

Did it come on for a few minutes, and then turn off ? if so, you probably just triggered it by Power Braking.. (hitting the gas and brake pedals at the same time). I have had it come on a few times.. It will leave a stored code but the light should turn off if all you did was hit the two pedals at the same time.

 

I did have the brake and throttle on at the same time while backing up to a trailer. It did stay on while the truck was running and it didn't show any codes after I shut down. After the truck sat for an hour, the light is not on any longer. Who knows with all this electronic stuff.

 

Mine came on, on the dyno yesterday and I didnt touch the brake.
