Egr Unplug and My Mileage

I just unpugged my egr the other day and have driven 280 miles. My mileage has never been above 13 MPG with my lift and tires. Since the unplug I have seen as high as 15.8 on the overhead liar. Wow, I couldnt be happier. I have an 07 with the last flash being when I bought it in Oct. 07 and everything seems to be running good. I didnt remove the butterfly and have nothing else done to it. I can't beleive that I gained that much mileage by simply unplugging something. Thanks to everyone that figured this out. I plan on getting a Edge Juice w/ Attitude for the CEL and maybe a little more mileage. I know my overall numbers are still a lot lower than most but thats great for me.

The Edge won't clear the code and CEL because the parts are still missing...

I thought that I've read on here that the Attitude clears codes on Startup??? Does this mean that even if I get something like that, I will always have a CEL? Is there any other way to fix that. If not oh-well.

Once they come out with an EGR fooler then you won't have any CELs. The Edge clears the codes from the DPF delete kit upon startup. It may clear the EGR code too but once the truck starts and the ECM sees no EGR operation then it will just trip the light again....

I see. Thanks for your input. I think I can just live with the light on. Maybe I will put a piece of tape over it or something.

I keep saying that too but I'm so used to it that I don't notice it half the time anymore....

My Edge Insight will clear the cel prior to startup and it will stay off until I turn the engine off again. At each startup there is a cel. I've driven for several hours and the cel never came on until restart.

I unplugged my egr and did the dpf delete. I also have an edge juice w/ attitude. I have never seen a cel. I forget to let the edge clear codes half the time but still no codes. I have the AX flash also. I have no idea why mine is different or does not through codes.

Well, I had I light come on today that was Electronic Throttle Control or something like that. It has never happened before. Does this have anything to do with unplugging my egr? Has anyone else had this? When I would let off the throttle I could tell something was wrong. I pulled over and restarted my truck and it went off and truck was back to normal.

It does have something to do with the EGR unplug. I'll do some research and see why that happens and if there is a fix. That is, if someone here doesn't already know......
