Bumping the starter is not needed as the pump primes the system prior to the starter engaging if you give it the chance. Turn off all your accessories, radio, heater/AC and then turn the key on to get the grid heater light and you will hear the fuel pump run.

I did a full fuel system upgrade, Tank Vent Mod, Walbro Kit, and Big Line kit all at the same time. Once I had everything back together I just cycled the key on and off several times (6 or 8) to allow the new fuel pump to run and reprimed the entire system. I never had to crack any injectors or even the filter housing. Truck fired right up and never missed a beat.
