Dodge will buy your fuel!!!

Hey guys i dont know if you have heard this but If you buy an new dodge Chrysler or Jeep inthe next month they will ensure that you fuel only costs 2.99 a gallon so they pick up the next 1.50 for diesel fuel!!! wow here is the link

http://www.dodge.com/en/refuel/

So my next question is should i run to the dealer and trade in my 02 for an new 08 6.7L , is their any benefit to keeping my rig vs. getting the new rig i figure my payments will be about the same with the fuel thing figured in so... why not
any thoughts?
thanks

I bet when you go to negotiate price, they say you can have this or that not both like they do with 0% financing, cash back and such.

the buck 50 a gallon you're saving is costing you 700 a month for a truck payment. my truck is paid for and its next owner will be the junk yard when the wheels fall off. course being a dodge that could be next year.....

True,
but if you average 16 mpg for fuel and drive 1600 miles a month using 100gallons of fuel, that is a savings of 150 bucks a month till the fuel allowance wears off that turns your 700 dollar payment into a 550 payment with fuel savings which i could live with for a brand new 2008

it would only get me cheap fuel 1 month a year for 3 years at 10,000 miles a month.

7,200 gallons of fuel for the next 3 years at $2.99 a gal. The catch is if you finance at 7 or even 5 years you'd be better off with the older almost paid for truck paying full pump price. Might be a good deal if you can pay for a new truck outright course that probably makes you ineligible for the program.

I just talked to the Dodge dealer about this, and you are right in the fact that you only get the cash rebate which in the Midwest is $4,500 or low interest rate plan, or the new fuel plan. You can not have the $4,500 rebate and the new fuel plan.

Here are the details on the new fuel plan.
You get a $2,000 cash rebate and 800 gallons of fuel per year for 3 years for a maximum of 2,400 gallons (2500/3500 trucks). You have to have a valid Visa or Master card in order to use this offer.

Here is a link for more detailed information.

I saw that 2,400 and thought it was per year if I was looking for a truck right now like I was a couple of years ago I'd probably be all over this deal. But I wouldn't go do it now just because..

no, as stated above, the 2400 gallons is total and divided by the 3 years. roughly 68-70 fll ups. i almost do that in one year. i didn't look at how exstinsive a list there is of "participating" stations, but it's just alot of fine print to start with. i am not usually to big on these types of incentives. if dc is willing to pony up extra money on crap like fuel savings, then i'd rather have it off the price of the truck. just too many stipulations for me.

However, seems to be an interesting way to strum up truck sales with the fuel prices being $4.30 a gallon for diesel right now, expected to hit $5.00 a gallon by the end of summer.

Dodge will lose less money if you take the gas deal when compared to a big rebate as the cost of the fuel is spread over 3 years. Also you can bet Dodge cut a deal with the gas/oil companies to get a lower price on the fuel you will use and why you can only buy it at named brand stations.
