Is your fuel pressure sensor on your fuel filter cap?

Thinking about adding a FP gage. Looking at Geno's fuel filter cap with the port for a sensor on top of it. My question is what happens when you change the fuel filter? Do you have to remove the sensor before unscrewing the cap? If so, do you have to bleed or refill the line to the gage every time? Or is there a swivel in the sensor so it will not kink up when unscrewing the cap?

Thanks.......Steve

go with the electric fuel pressure guage and get the tapped banjo bolt (dieselmanor.com) to relplace the factory banjo. that worked out good for me

Here's what mine looked like. You just unplug the harness. Never had a problem with bleeding the electric sensor and the cap. In fact, I never bled it even when I put it on new. Now I have an isolator and I have to bleed everytime I change the filter. Wish Di Pricol had the electric when I switched from Autometer.

Just put some quick connect plugs on the electrical wires going to the sensor. That's what I did. Of course I did not do this initially and I found out the hard way that it is needed....

Mines in the genoes fuel filer cap also and like it there. I didnt use a isolator or rubber hose, just the sender directly in the cap. Works well , no problems. When filter time just that 1 nut to remove holding the wire in place. I choose to put it there rather than the cp3 simply due that it was a cleaner look and nothing in the way. I still have the banjo bolt that came with the quad kit, im planning on installing it and running a 0-30 liquid filled 1 1/2 mech. guage there, it will be clean looking and give me the spread [pressure] across the fuel filter.

I put mine in a tapped banjo bolt, going in the injection pump. Makes more sense to me. When the pressure sucks down, I know to check my filter.

Go for the tapped banjo bolt, in my opinion its a cleaner install. I personally don't have it because I measure my pressure at a location between the fuel filter and Glaciers 2 micron filter using Glaciers big line kit.

However if I was going to leave my fuel system stock, the banjo bolt would be what I would do. Just keep it clean during the install. I have fears about contaminating the CP3!

X2 with an isolator

I did the banjo bolt, but notice that I will indeed need an isolator as well. Geno's has those, right?

Sounds like the banjo bolt is the way to go. Thanks guys. Next question, where does the bolt install at? Pictures would be great!! I think I could handle the install myself, but need to know where to put it. Can I use an electrical gage with the banjo bolt? Or does the banjo bolt require a mechanical gage?

Thanks again......Steve

I put a fitting at the intake banjo bolt of the cp3 and ran a flexable hose up to the firewall where I mounted an electric sender for my gauge. Reason was I get pressure reading at the cp3 after going through my filters and I hear the electric senders are short lived when mounted directly ON the engine because of the voilent shaking. (think shut down shake for example)
