Deal on 07 2500
Hello, I have a question for all of you very knowledgeable fellers. I just sold my Chevy 2500 6.0 and am looking for a Cummins. I hope that’s enough back ground, anyway to get to my first question - I would like a 3500 but am looking at both 3500s and 2500s. What is the major differences in these Dodges?
Question 2- I found a killer deal on an 07 2500 6.7 auto long bed 4 door 4x4 with 6000 miles and e/b here is the vin 3D7KS28AX7G850306. The reason for the good price 28000 and also the problem is that the vehicle was stolen so no warranty. I went and gave it a good drive and shake down and everything seems to check out. So what are your opinions? Thank you

The all-new emissions equipment on the 6.7L CTD is far too new and as-yet unperfected a system to have such a large investment with no warranty. I would pass on the '07 stolen. I bought my '08 SLT Lone Star for $33000 last December, so a decent deal can be found on a new truck that still has warranty coverage.
To answer your question about 2500 vs. 3500, the only difference between the two is the 3500 has overloads on the rear leaf springs.

Stolen is a permanent mark against that vehicle. You will have a difficult time selling that vehicle used. I would not spend that type of cash on a vehicle with no warranty.
Only real difference between the 2500 and 3500 is the overload springs and the contact portions welded on the frames for those overloads. Because of this, you cannot just go out and buy overloads and have them work on a 2500. However, there are many way to beef up your suspension to be even more capable that the 3500 with a 2500 (airbags, timbrens, etc).

$14,500 off msrp...........I found a Sunday price leader ad for $14000 off msrp plus I had a $500 off E coupon from Dodge that was additive to any deal. It was SWD 3500 6.7 4x4 crew cab Lone Star. Wanted white, ad was for one unit and it was Patriot Blue. Blue is growing on me, I've had it 4 days now and actualy started thinking I'm tierd of white anyway!

To be technically correct, all 6.7's except a few very early cab and chassis trucks come standard with the exhaust brake.
