Sounds good to me. Even with the exchange to Canuck dollars that translates to good up here. A buddy just bought one like that with 40k miles plus and paid alot more than that. I say go for it.

I just had a customer get a "good deal" on an 02 6spd 3500 2wd with 198K on it. I've already installed an injection pump and lift pump on it and discovered the alt is broken and cleverly attached with some mechanics wire. Guess what I'm getting to is if you are not too sure of the history it might be worth the time/money to have someone scan it and give it a good once over.

Ok I just got the owner to snap some pics for me. The 35's are not mounted now (he says these are his summer tires), but come with the truck. The pics were taken before he lifted it just a few weeks ago also.

Uh...not to be the contrarian here, but why did he "lift it a few weeks ago" and is now selling it? I'm skeptical of trucks that have been modified, lifted, etc. Particurarly if it's been done just prior to the sale.
Carfax it (yes there are limitations to this - it's a good guide) and have a tech look it over. If it's an automatic, make sure that's in good shape, too. Plan upon installing a fuel pressure gauge once you purchase it. Good luck!

I'd Carfax it too. Does he always park there? In the first pic there is a lot of oil on the ground like it is somewhere someone always parks that has an oil leak. I'd also have a good diesel tech look it over. Last minute mods are a signal of something wrong, I'd certainly look him in the eye with a few questions before buying. I bought a truck several years ago from a fellow getting a divorce, he had done quite a few last minute mods, told me had a garage full of stuff he threw on because he had time on his hands when the wife left him, then he needed out of his payments - so I bought it. The truck ran great for about 160K and I had to rebuild the engine. So, sometime last minute mods are OK, but I would still investigate further.

Shortly after he lifted this thing the owner threw his back out at work and couldn't climb in and out of it all the time. He has allready bought a 2wd '06 dually and is selling it cause the dealer only wanted to give him $10,000 trade-in on the new one. Now he has 2 notes and needs to sell this one fast. Original offering was $17,900 last month when I 1st saw it for sale. No that is not where he parks all the time, it's where he works at in the parking lot.
Carfax came back clean!!! He is the original owner, and only one insurance claim for a windshield.

I would jump on that like white on rice on a paper plate in a snowstorm. Up here in my neck of the woods that truck wouldn't sell for a dime less than $17,000.
I would have someone look it over and check the truck. If it checks out ok, I'd say go for it.

Streetsmoker, just to give you some more peace of mind, the 01.5 I traded in for the white one I have now, I got $15,500 on trade for it, and it had 162,000 miles on it.
