Clutch

Hey everyone. I have a question about a newly installed clutch in a 2007 3500 4WD dually. I did not install clutch an friend put it in and now I am thinking about buying the truck. Problem is that when the clutch is pushed completely to the floor the transmission will not go into gear. If you let the pedal up off floor about 3 inches it will go into any gear you want. But then it won’t grab until the pedal is about an inch from the top and the clutch is slipping like it isn’t fully disengaging. Any ideas

Do you know which clutch was put in it? I put the 1947ok-hd in mine and have not had any issues with it. When you say it will not go into gear with the clutch on the floor, is that with the engine running, or does it do it with the engine off as well?
