CEL and oil change

Has anybody had their oil change alert come and then your CEL come on, too? The first time my oil came on, I didn't have anything else pop up. Just the alert for the oil replacement.

My oil change alert came up, ok fine......I was due anyway, and then 2 days later my CEL popped up and won't go away. It blinks then stops and stays on. I tried pulling the code...but nothing. I know these 6.7's sometimes don't show codes.

Is there a relation between the oil and the CEL light, ya think?

I'm calling first thing Monday for the oil change and I am going up to Auto Zone tomorrow to have them hook me up and tell me if there are any codes.

I have about 11,600 on the truck right now.

Thanks.....

Had the code read at Auto Zone and then at the dealer.

P2262

Why am I not surprised?

Typical fix...drill, clean, replace.

5 days later?? Holy heck.....I was told it would be 3 1/2 hours....and that includes the oil change and flash for the harsh downshift.

3 1/2 hours or days haha!! Sorry!

I would be betting on a couple of days at least. get all the flashes done then unhook that EGR plug and see how she runs. My guess is it will love you for it

They guarantee it will be in my hands by the end of the day.

I told them I need the truck for the weekend and that I MUST have it. They said no problem.

The diesel tech knows his stuff. He's been there a long time and has been straight up with me about everything. Good guy. I trust him.

I guess we'll see come Friday.

I got a question....my CEL was on for 2 days and then went off. Could I safely drive until it comes on again? Do you think I had burned off enough soot to make the light go out?

I think I saw on here where guys were driving on high RPM's on the highway for a while and then the light would go off. Is this the case?

If I can get away with them not drilling my turbo for a little longer, I would be happy.
