6.7 Lemon....PLEASE HELP /going to FORD
Care to tell me why MY truck is a piece of junk??
I know that everyone is not going to like the same brand, but why do you have to call my truck junk because it is a FORD.
All brands have their good and bad points.
I was told to not buy a 6.0 especially the first year model(03-04) because of all the problems, but I checked it out and bought it anyway.
I have been nothing but happy with the truck...is it the best truck out there...no,but it's a better truck than YOU think it is.
Come take a ride in it and you will change your mind...I promise!!

I'm working on a lemon law deal here in SC right now. I bought my 5.9l in Jan. 07 with 53 miles on it. I have 9100 miles on it and have had it in the shop 4 times for the a/c. They just can't seem to get it right. They replaced lines the first time, O rings the 2nd time, compressor the 3rd visit, and now a DC rep is here working with the service manager to try and find the problem. If they decide to replace my vehicle, I think I will go the G56 this time around. I miss my 6spd lol.
YES....unfortunately when you have a new engine, new electronics and new emissions....your gonna have a few bumps in the road....believe me...I have worked for Nissan for 20 years...when a new model comes out and you get a couple in with problems...unfortunately...they tell you to "try" some things along the way to fix the problems your having....they don't have much "if any" info to go on.....they are new to the product as well so they have no experience with ways to fix the problems....someone's going to have to be the ginny pig somewhere....GOOD LUCK
god help you if you go with a Ford....................hope you don't have to get rid of your truck...

hey iraceMX6......Ford isn't junk....they're just having their share of problems too...AGAIN....new engine, new emissions....new problems....
Ford just seems to be having more problems than most........yes, I was looking at 6.0's and our Ford techs said to stay away from them....
the 6.4 by design is by far a better more efficient design.....just too new to tell yet with reliability....that's why I went with the old 5.9
hey, there's no such thing as a perfect product....everyone is gonna have trouble with something......

Either the AC works or it doesn't, and there are multiple ways to determine if a line or O-ring is leaking, you have gauge sets to determine if the compressor is putting out the specified pressures. ALL of this should have been fixed the first time it went into the dealership!!
Personally, I hope you get yourself a new G56 equipped truck, but I would also be yanking that DC dealers ticket for incompetence.
By the time Ivan the terrible was done ( me ), there would be a whole lot fewer Dealers, or they would have been replaced with competent ones......

Just turned 68k on my girly man grocery getter poorly designed Dodge Ram with it's fake Hemi engine and other than a condenser fan that I replace myself, it has been 100% trouble free. Not even a hint of trouble. Hasn't seen the dealership since I bought it 2.5yrs ago. It's not a Dodn't problem. I really don't think it's a Cummins problem either. I firmly believe it's a LSD fuel, cheap fuel, dad always used leftover heating oil so I do too, fuel additives that aren't needed but I just gotta do something, too much idling because big rigs idle a lot even though Cummins recommends they don't idle for long periods of time either, it's a cruiser that never sees a load but compensates for my small man syndrome, I only drive three miles to work so I need a truck that will last a million miles... I bet if a guy bought one and used it for it's intended purpose, fed it the required fuel and oils and, left out the snake oil and gimmicks, it would be fine.
Sorry, just got torqued about the cheap Dodge, precious Honda post.

I don't have any easy way to know what might have happened in the first 24,799 miles, but since I've had it (at 122,xxx) it's only been in the dealer for something my Dad did to it. Which is another perfect reason to let NO-ONE else ever drive your truck!
Mine MUST have been built on the best day of the week!

I would have bought one but where I was screwed so bad with my 06 and was left with a piece of junk. I was lucky to find my new dealer to help me out a little on trading for a 07 and now there is no way I am going to take another hit in the pocket book. I am sorry to be so negitive this has just left a very sore spot down deep. My 07 is doing pretty good it just that emission crap thats got it messed up. I still believe that the cummins is the best pulling truck out there.
I believe that if someone wants to pay the money that they pay for a truck they can use it however they want. Not meaning to start anything but it bugs me when guys get on here and act like if someone doesnt pull a million pounds a day then they should ride a bike. I work hard for my money and my truck is what I wanted to buy with it so I did. Now back on the subject I think if people are as unhappy as they sound about their trucks then they should move on to something else. I am a fan of whatever works.

your said it the best way i could have
Last month I went to Veil Colorado and their are some nice long grades between Veil and Denver. I saw one Semi parked with smoking brakes. Two Duramax's pulling 5ers pulled over with the hood up one 08 superduty with some sort puddle under it. Their weren't any Dodges parked on the sidelines is all I have to say
The dodge's were in the shop?
Its a shame about fords where if you have to do major work on the engine, U have to tear the truck in 2!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just at a ford dealer in miami, and the whole shop had new super dutys in there cut in half!!!! What a shame!!!! Im not putting down ford at all, i almost bought a 450, price was killer though and especially with the lawsuit, it was easy to stay away. Plus, cummins last alot longer. I sold my 6.0 with 60k with no problems. Except a new turbo as 34k miles, which wasnt even the problem, just needed a new egr. haha
I have an 07 3500 chassis-cab purchased in January. So far it has about 15000 miles with no problems. I have a refrigeration service business that we use the truck for. We have always been "die hard Ford" forever....until recently. Through the years, we have had good service from our Fords and usually put between 350K-450K miles on them before replacing the truck. We also purchased a Dodge CTD new in 1995 which we are still working today with 370K miles. We have bought 3 new Fords in the last 5 years and I am so unhappy with them,I will NEVER buy another Ford!!! Against my mechanic's recommendation, I bought the new Dodge chassis-cab and couldn't be happier!!! I know that with only 15K miles, the jury is still out on that one, especially with all of the emissions stuff, but they all come with the emissions stuff now, and all of the brands are going to go through a learning-curve with the mew stuff. I placed my bets with Cummins that if anyone would get it right, they would. My mechanic didn't know of my decision until the day I picked up the truck and drove it to him to see what he thought of it. He was singing a different tune after looking at the truck! This is one BEEFY truck when you look at the chassis, brakes, driveshaft, steering.....EVERYTHING! When I went to pick up the truck from getting the body installed, I got my first look at the new Ford with it's Fisher-Price grill and I am sure glad I didn't spend $35000 on something that ugly! By the way, the body install guy was equally impressed with the truck. I have no experience with the Chevy/GMC diesels. Just my two cents worth on the subject.
