Wobblin' In the rear end, Is This DEATH
I have searched and read almost all the posts on the "Wobble" of death, and it sounds like its a front end issue. (04.5 CTD, 6 speed, QC, LB, all stock) I'm positive mine starts in the rear and is felt throughout the whole truck! Seems to happen at any speed over about 50mph, and is caused by the rear axle. It feels like the rear end, the box and the cab are all going to fall right off the frame. However my steering is still pretty responsive and my steering wheel doesn't get the wobble vibrations very bad if at all. How do I fix it, Please help

If you are sure it is the rear, check your leaf springs for cracks, loose bolts, etc. Check your shocks, driveshaft play. You need to get it on a lift and check out everything front and rear. The rear can't really move around much unless something is broken.

The dealer has had it on 2 different occassions, wasted my fuel and put about 125 miles on it. They say they can't find a single thing front or rear everything looks great and the front end measured correctly. Is it possible that 1 tire or rim is bad since new? I have 30K on it now and have rotated the tires twice, does not matter what tire is where, I still get the wobble.

Well take it someplace else, if its as bad as that its dangerous. Hunt up a good front end shop ,where they align ft ends streighten frames do springs shock etc. Somebody that understands the geomatry

$ for $, # for #, nothing beats a Bilstien! I would suspect shocks, I replaced my front ones at 23k, while the stocks ones were still "as new" and the difference was night and day!! Now I can feel the play in the stock rears.

Do you tow at all if not check your driveline pinion angles, carrier bearing may need to be shimmed if you have one. U-joints everywhere Brake calipers, pads rotors. Then check the driveshaft for balance. Mine was way off since day one that's the reason I got my truck so cheap when I got it. I towed all the time so it didn't bug me until I started to go empty then I replaced all ujoints and balanced the shaft. 210,000km and perfect smooth no rattles but now its time for my first ball joint replacement and new ujoint on the front at drivers hub. ks
