Winter coming - battery time

Then a few weeks ago a light was left on in the work trailer and it drained the trailer battery and both PlatinumÂ’s. I jumped started the truck and left for work. Now, if it sits for more then 8 hours, it ainÂ’t gonna start.
I'm leaning towards lead acid serviceable batteries...... For the sake of "prepare for winter" discussion. What batteries are you having good luck with?
PS Sears dropped the Platinum battery line.

Top end autozones and interstates didn't last longer than right outside of warranty. On oreily gels similar to optima and they have been great. Plus no corrosion with gel.

I went through three sets of Optima Yellow tops in 8 years, and got pretty frustrated with the gel batteries. So, I decided to try the AGM's. Since I don't live where they freeze and bulge anymore, the liquid electrolyte type is probably fine. Now that I think about it, if I'm getting three years out of a battery, I'm doing pretty well for this truck. Might have to start grabbing el-cheapos. If they last two years, I'll almost be halving my investment.

OK, its cold and the Diehard Platinums are giving up after 8 years of faithfull service. Torn between the Bossh Platinums @ PepBoys two for $320 or Odyssey 65-PC1750T from Amazon $555 both have 4 year replacement. Sorry won't consider the old lead float batteries. Got 8 years always started. Have AGM's in two other vehicles work great, no crusties. Anyone know of any coupons for Odysseys? Missed the SEMA one.

Trucks up!
Went with the Odyssey 65-PC1750T. And installed an new Remy 94532 Alternator. Keeping old OEM unit to see rebuild options and keep as spare. When it warms up taking starter out to do contacts and plunger. It spun crazy fast after grid heaters cycled , 17 degrees out. Had to take out airbox to get access, not mentioned in factory manual.

Living in Phoenix AZ, we don't spend too much money on batteries since they don't last more than 2-3 years anyway due to heat.. I buy the Costco Interstates and they always fail about 30 months into a 36 month warranty.. nothing lasts here any longer really and it's not worth the extra scratch you have to outlay 2x-3x to buy odysseys or equivalent..
