Sounds like the dealership is trying to screw you over. Tell them to show you/prove to you the cause of it.

What dealership is it?

Sounds like the dealership is screwing you, take it some where else.
On a side note...how would you know if you got bad fuel (water in it, etc...?) Souldn't the filter separate the contaminates, and when it is full, if before the recomended change interval then it should let you know with one of the idiot lights. Or am I wrong on this?

Get a fuel sample and talk to your insurance agent. If the dealer is unable/unwilling to provide a sample, get your truck to another dealer and get an attorney. Also call the 1-800-992-1997 number as well and ask to get a district manager/field rep involved. Good luck and keep us posted.

Did you have the recall done for the rollover valve/vent hose problem. This is what has caused my failure I believe. The hoses were left off and water, sand, grit, etc. entered into the tank. They will try to get out of warranty. They are blaming me for not changing the fuel filter earlier (3000 miles overdue). My truck is still in the shop and has been for almost 6 weeks. They are avoiding me....just like I am going to avoid them next time the payment becomes due.
