I have a 04.5. I looked at the back of the filter housing, there is something there, but I didn't think it was the lift pump, looked too small to be a pump. It was dark and hard to see good. So if that's not the pump, it's in the tank,,,,right. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read that if your pump is in the tank, you can't by-pass it and use the FASS system. But I could be wrong about that one. Can someone please inlighten me.

 

Your 04.5 lift pump is small, black, and is mounted on the rear side of the filter canister, it's only about 1.5" in diameter maybe 6" tall.

If it's not where Rick described it has been retrofited with the TSB for a in-tank pump. If you have owned the truck since new and it has not been back to the dealer for lift pump problems then it should be as Rick described.

 

Thank's guy's. I've owned the truck since new. So,,,,that's it. I was expecting something bigger. Truthfully, I thought that was the water in fuel sensor.
