where to get HOAT rated coolant
Well, I dumped some Cat 50/50 extended life in my truck the other day. Didn't check the rating, I figured, good enuf for Cat= good enuf for Cummins!.. I think it might have a small coolant leak, but I can't find where its leaking. No antifreeze smell either! I checked the coolant line behind the turbo, even laid down cardboard overnight, nothing. Its either leaking, or it had LOTS of air in it from the factory.
I don't understand the mind set " good enough for cat" they tend to be an over priced piece of equipment with this "God type" reputation. They don't even make a diesel for our application and are not competeing in our market. Use what Cummins recommends. Sorry, but Cummins has no apologies to make to Cat.
