HOAT Rated Coolant

Well, can't find it at any of the local auto parts stores, and the dealer in town is closed on Sat-Sun. I called another dealer to ask about it an hour away, and he had no idea what I was talking about. So, what brand coolant are ya'll using and where you getting it at? Thanks.

I was in kind of the same situation, I ended up using the amsoil stuff. A little pricey at first, but am sure I'll never have to change it again. It is rated for 250,000 miles. It is compatible with the HOAT coolant too. I want to say it was $20 a gallon for four gallons.

When you consider the life of the fluid, the cost works out to the same.

Meant as a bump.....

Again what brand meets the Chrysler specs for our trucks. Zerox or any perticuliar brand ?????

Not what the dealer sells due to price in my opinion unless that is the only source for it. I'm sure that AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts or NAPA or someone sells a compatable fluid, just need to know which one. I have read labels and still have not found an approved by name fluid.

Thanks if anyone knows......

I bought some Zerex G-05 (HOAT) at NAPA but I had to ask for it by name, they had it in the back, not out on the shelves. I think it was $10 or $11 a gallon.

autozone here in VA is not stocking zerex

I didn't want to start a whole new thread but have you noticed: I went to autozone today to get some Zerez G-O5 coolant, HOAT, for my parents.
Well the local autozone quit carrying it. All they had was Peak, and Prestone Dexcool, and autozone brand. I told them, this dosn't help me. I can get all of that stuff at china-mart! For Less!
They replaced it last month they said, then tried to sell me the "mixes with all compatable brands and cars" stuff in the yellow jug.

Monkey auto(AAP) dosn't sell zerex around here. I will stop at Napa tomorrow. They just had napa brand last time I was there. There's an O'reillys in the next town. guess I'll have to check there.

Anyone else see Zerex disappearing? Bummer

If you're really really stuck, Toyota uses HOAT coolant... go to a Toyota dealer.

I just bought Zerex at Pep Boys. It was like $15, but they were the only local place other than a dealer.

I just did the Zerex G-05 myself. It says somewhere on their page that they supply the coolant for Mopar, just died red.

I use the pre-mixed prestone. It meets all of the Mopar specs.

I would be very careful with anything that said Dex-Cool on it. Being compatible doesn't mean it is necessarily HOAT coolant. You may have to change the coolant a lot sooner if you mix types. If you get desperate, you can use Ford/Motorcraft gold coolant.

AutoZone, Advanced, and O'rielly in my area don't even know what Zerex/HOAT is. NAPA has it my area.

I read somewhere on the net that there was pressure on Prestone to remove that wording because it does not meet the requirements. I decided it was worth finding the Zerex.
