HOAT Coolant
HOAT Coolant
How important is it to run the HOAT equivelant coolant in the cummins engine? I had to make a last minute decision due to availability of coolant. I do intend on switching to a HOAT equivelant coolant in the near future. Is there anything to be worried about?
I think the big thing is knowing what you mixed with it. I have always been very paranoid about mixing coolants. HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) refers to a specific inhibitor package in the coolant itself. There are alternatives to HOAT. I am running Fleetguard ES Compleat™ OAT.
I see you are in Pflugerville. I am Hutto.
Hello neighbor.

Hello neighbor.
The guy I talked to at Cummins northeast said that Dodge required HOAT coolant due to the greater use of Aluminum in their vechiles, eg. the cylinder heads on the new hemi. I think so long as you completely flush the old coolant you can run a diesel rate low silicate coolant just fine.
