whats wrong with pennzoil

Well it is the age old battle with pennzoil!!
I know back when I was more up on the refineries and things of the sort PENN oil refineries were about 10-15 years ahead of everyone else. They had some of the best additives for there oil. In the old days they did have some pretty bad oil and you would pop off valve covers and find that cacky sludge build up that people talk about. But they say the new oils are much different!
Like an old time mechanic told me if it makes you feel better to use a specefic brand knock your socks off and use it. Just as long as you change it regular and keep a good oil filter in there the motor is going to last just that simple. Now there are oils that offer some benefits out there because of the additives they put in but to each there own. Just change it often and you will be fine.
I worked for Caterpillar for years and we never had a problem with Rotella, Delo 15w-40 or Mystic 15w-50 and these engines were always pushed to far and always in the most nasty conditions possible!

Well you know how it goes!!! Some people will never change there thinking!
As long as you use the correct weight and api cert is doesnt matter on brand it you keep it changed. We have a small fleet of F150's that have had nothing but Pennzoil in them and changed at 3-5k miles. Some of the trucks are over 300k and never had a valve cover/oil pan off of them.

Yeap keeping it changed is the main thing!!
I agree 100% that if you keep most any oil changed/filtered you will be fine.
As I see it though, once a company has a reputation for less than stellar conditions, there is FAR too many other quality choices out there.

Yeap and if it makes a person feel better by running a certain type then by all means knock yourself out!!
