what you think

I currently have a 2004 ,2500 HO cummins, 3:73 auto with only 91k on her, It has a leveling kit 33's with American racing wheels, and a B&M gooseneck. all else is stock.

Thinking about trading her in on a 2012 with Cummins just curious if fuel econonmy is still crap for thse that have 2012 trucks? Also do they use DPF in that year dealer says not in that year I thought they did?

If so how much of a pain in the butt is it do i have to add gallons of what ever that is called?

Your 04 will get better mileage for sure.

I'm not sure about the DEF (exhaust fluid) but I don't think the 12's need it. But if they do it is very easy to fill it up.

A wise decision for sure. Payments get old real quick. Especially considering your low mileage. Just keep it, drive the wheels off it, save what that payment would be and in about 5 years you'll have enough for a new one when you really need it.

PS - The 2012's didn't have the DEF fluid for what it's worth. However, the new trucks with the DEF provision are supposed to get 2 to 3 more mpg as a result of a lot less EGR and probably less required regeneration events. I think the improvements to the Rams each year are impressive but I intend on keeping my two 3rd Gen's forever, ( well that may not be that long considering I'm an old f**t. Ha, ha).
