What gears?
What gears?
How can I figure out what gears on in the truck im lookin at? Its an 04 Crew Cab Short bed, with an auto. I know where to look on Dana axles but these arent Danas.
First place to look is the glovebox. There is a sticker showing the additional features for the truck. There are no tags on the aam axles. If you are dealing with a dealer have them get the vin # and pull the build sheet on it.

I have no need for that deep of a gear. What gear options are available for this truck with an auto? Can I get 3.54s, or am I limited to 3.73s?

I tow 50% of the time with 3:73's They will get the best mileage and roll down the road nice 2000rpm = 71MPH ish. If you tow heavy and quite a bit then IMHO I would go 4:10's and a 6sp. But you might not like them doing 75 empty.
