Does it go into park ,or reverse too, or is it only in 3rd all the time.

 

Is the little motor illuminated on the dash?

 

My 03 wouldn't shift into overdrive. I disconnected the 3 plugs on the PCM (located on the passenger side firewall) loose and sprayed them with electrical contact cleaner. Repacked them and it shifted into overdrive. No more problems.

 

Need a little more info.

Does it manually downshift?

Still moving forward in reverse or just in Drive?

 

When they put it in drive, it starts off in third.

stuck in limp mode. they will start off in a higher gear to still be able to move and get ya home or to the shop.

 

It's an 04. I asked them to pull codes, but I have not heard back yet.

These d-max guys are not too bad. I'm on there for my XO, and they welcomed me pretty good. One dude has taken a poke at me, but I poked back...

 

That's what my 01 did when the gov pressure sensor went out. Replaced it and all was fine. Don't know if it would be the same on the 04 or not.

 

Mine would do that(limp mode) when the gear selector sensor was contaminated with trans fluid. Sometimes it would throw a code, sometimes not, but I would clear it with Smarty, codes or not, and it would be back to normal.
