What Clutch to go with for a NV5600???

Hello All, I'm approaching the 100,000 mile mark and my tranny is having the typical rough shifting of a NV5600. I just changed out the fluid with Penzoil Synchromesh and overfilled by 1 qt. It seemed to have helped but I really think I'm on the verge of a new clutch. The truck was used for pulling cattle trailers when it was on the newer side but is just used for going around town and driving cross country now. I have read good things about the south bend clutches but I really don't think that i need to drop the money in one. I plan on getting a quadzilla mileage max and plan on upgrading my Lift Pump eventually as I'm still on the stock pump and I already have a AEM Brute force Installed. Not really looking to go crazy on upgrades so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a reasonably priced clutch that is good maybe up to 350 to 400 horsepower or should I go with a South bend? Should I look into replacing the flywheel or just see if I can get it trued up at the machine shop? Just want to cover all my basis because it's a pretty big job to do and then have to go back in and do it again because I should have used this or done that. Thanks

This would be a good clutch to replace your old one, and should last you much longer.

Might also want to consider a heavy duty hydraulic clutch system from SBC.

Thanks for the info. Thats probably what I'm going to do. I think my hydraulics are starting to go anyway because I'm getting a hard clutch pedal.

I love the zoom zvt clutch. less pedal pressure than my sbc and has lasted just as long. no slippage, costs much less.

A number of the manufactures that make clutch's like Zoom have setups for these trucks that are stronger then stock(not a whole lot but stronger)at decent prices.Search the web.Stick with a name brand.

I have no experience with other clutches, but the Con O and Con OFE from South Bend would be good choices for holding power and smooth driving. The OFE might have a slight bit of grabbiness to it, but it's nothing like an FE.

The last clutch i did for a guy, he didnt want to drop much dough so i called dial-a-clutch and bought a ceramic button disc (175$ approx) had the local napa turn the flywheel for 35$, 40$ throwout and pilot bearig and used the old pressure plate. He says it is still working great a year later. As long as you have not been slipping the clutch the pp should not need to be relaced. You can look up www.dialaclutch.com.
